“You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask1 in my name. My command is this: Love each other.” (John 15:16-17)
God chose us, not because we’re special, but because He has a plan. We might feel like we’re not good enough, but our strength comes from Him, not ourselves. If we try to do things on our own, we’ll fail. But with God, we can do amazing things. He wants us to live fruitful lives. This takes time, patience, and trust in Him. And most importantly, He teaches us to love. God knew everything about us before we were even born—our good and bad parts, our struggles and mistakes. But He still loves us, even when we mess up. I used to ask, “Why me, God?” Now I ask, “Why not me?” It’s a privilege to be chosen by God. He lets us touch other people’s lives and share His love. When we feel unworthy, we need to remember: “I am chosen, I am loved, and I am God’s child!”
Before I started serving God, I made excuses: “I’m not ready. I don’t know enough.”, “I didn’t memorize the Bible, just look for someone else God”. I thought I was being humble, but I was just scared and proud. It wasn’t until I lost everything and had only God to turn to that I gave up and trusted Him. I thought I needed skills and knowledge. But God taught me the most important thing: love. I started loving people, even the ones who were hard to love. Then I saw God change me—my mind, my heart, and my faith. I’m still learning, and I see His power, His healing, and His faithfulness. I know He’s a loving Father who helps me love more than I ever could on my own.
God wants to change us. He wants to heal our hurts, fix our hearts, and make us more like Him. That’s why He chose us. We need to let Him work in every part of our lives so we can truly live for Him. His Spirit shows us our weaknesses, not to make us feel bad, but to help us become stronger. He’s making us ready, changing us day by day, so we can do even more good.
We’ll have times when we feel ordinary, unworthy, or unable. But that’s when God is getting us ready for something big. Don’t give up on what God has called you to do—He chose you for a reason.
Most of all, He chose us to LOVE. Let love be how we live. Keep loving, and let His love flow through you to others.
Above all, God has chosen us to LOVE.
Let LOVE be our default response.
Let LOVE be our immediate reaction.
Keep loving, and let His love shine through you.
Lord, thank You for choosing me, and thank You for Your love that never fails. Help me to love like You do—fully, freely, and faithfully.
