Father, Son, & Holy Spirit

Who is God? It’s one of the deepest questions a person can ask and the Bible gives a beautiful, eternal answer: God is love (1 John 4:8). But He is also holy, eternal, and personal. He revealed Himself to Moses as Yahweh—”I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14), meaning He is self-existent, unchanging, and always present. Yahweh is not one of many gods. He is the one true God, sovereign over all, and worthy of all worship. He has made Himself known to us as three persons in perfect unity—God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. This is what Christians call the Trinity. One God. Three persons. All working together to redeem and restore us.

God the Father – Creator and Source of Love

God the Father is Yahweh, the Maker of heaven and earth. He formed the universe with His Word (Genesis 1:1) and created humanity in His image (Genesis 1:27). But more than a powerful Creator, He is also our Heavenly Father—a loving, compassionate God who desires a relationship with His children. From the very beginning, His heart has been to rescue us from sin and bring us back to Himself. “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1). His love is not distant—it’s deeply personal.

Jesus the Son – Our Savior and Redeemer

Because of sin, we were separated from God. But in His mercy, the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us. Jesus is God in the flesh (John 1:14)—He walked among us, lived a sinless life, and willingly died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. This is the greatest act of love the world has ever known. “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). And He didn’t stay dead—He rose again, proving His power over sin and death. Jesus is not one of many ways—He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). When we believe in Him, we are forgiven, made new, and given eternal life.

The Holy Spirit – God With Us and In Us

When we place our faith in Jesus, God doesn’t leave us to figure things out on our own. He sends His Holy Spirit to live in us. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Yahweh. He is our Helper, Teacher, Counselor, and Guide (John 14:26). He reminds us of God’s truth, convicts us when we stray, and strengthens us to live a life that honors Christ. He produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, and more in our hearts (Galatians 5:22–23).

But the Holy Spirit does more than comfort, He empowers. Just as He did in the Book of Acts, the Holy Spirit enables believers today to live boldly, speak truth, heal the sick, and carry out the mission of Jesus. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…” (Acts 1:8). It was the Holy Spirit who gave Peter the courage to preach, who opened prison doors, and who filled ordinary men and women with extraordinary faith. That same Spirit lives in us now—equipping us to pray, to witness, to serve, and to love with divine strength.

Through the Spirit, we are never alone. God is with us, living in us, and working through us to continue what Jesus began.
